Commercial Floor Coating

Auto Paint Factory in Grand Rapids, MI replaced a 12 year old epoxy floor with a new V8 full chip application. The project involved men's and women's bathroom, break room and hallway. The old floor was removed using diamond grinding wheels and the new floor color is the V400 chip. The bathrooms also feature an 8" vertical finish for cleaning and aesthetic purposes. The hallway and break room received a 4" vertical finish. The entire project totaled just over 2000-sf and was completed in 3 phases working primarily after hours and weekends (around shifts). As a paint factory, dust was a major concern. Extra care was taken to ensure dust was contained by closing off the areas where grinding was taking place and cleaning vac filters 3x the normal rate. The owner was very pleased when no dust was apparent in the next day’s painting operations.

One highlight to the project was a graphic inlay of the company logo in the main hallway. We had one shot to get this right and I'm pleased to say it went very well. It was a surprise to many and the employees and management team loved it. The maintenance crews are very happy to have a floor that is considerably easier to maintain and the look is exactly what they were looking for.

It was a great project; glad to be a part of it. Hat's off to Zack and Nick...you two rocked.
